John Madden – President

In 1974, John Madden started John Henry Roofing, Inc. from scratch with a shovel and a wheel barrow. With twelve previous years of experience from working with two other roofing companies, John built a business based on hard work, quality workmanship and honesty. From the late 70’s into the early 80’s, John’s vision propelled the business into a very successful commercial and residential roofing business. As John leads his company into its 43rd year of business, the company’s excellent reputation and longevity are testimonials to his determination and daily commitment.

Jim Madden – General Manager

During summers in high school and college, Jim worked in the field for John Henry Roofing, Inc. and gained valuable experience in the trades of roofing and sheet metal. After graduating from UMASS, Amherst in 1993 with a degree in Economics, Jim began working full time in the office. Working side by side with his father, John, Jim learned the ins and outs of the roofing business. To date, Jim has compiled 24 years of experience in project management, estimating and human resources. His success and knowledge has helped him in running the daily operations of the business. Jim is OSHA-10 and CPR certified, and has received additional training in the areas of aerial lift safety, forklift safety, and harness safety.

Colleen Madden Fairchild – Operations Manager

Colleen worked in the John Henry Roofing, Inc. office during her high school and college summers, gaining a solid foundation in bookkeeping and secretarial work. Colleen earned her degree in Broadcast Journalism at Boston University, graduating magna cum laude in 2000. After working in the CNN newsroom in Atlanta for several years, Colleen returned to Boston and re-joined the family business as its Office Manager in 2003. After over a decade and a half of working alongside her father and brother, Colleen has gained extensive experience in business operations, customer service, business development, human resources, and project estimating. Colleen has gradually taken on more business responsibility over the years, bringing her into the role of Operations Manager.

Glenn Benjaminsen – Estimator/Office Manager

Glenn Benjaminsen joined the company in 2013 as the company’s Office Assistant and has become a valued member of the JHR Office team since then. Glenn helps with numerous important business tasks, including payroll, estimating planning, bidding document coordination, and customer service. Glenn has a background in the construction and building industry, having previously worked for Bosch Tools for nearly twenty years, and prior to that for Service Sales, a power tools service and supplier company. In keeping with the family business theme, Glenn is John Madden’s son-in-law, married to John’s eldest daughter Kathy.
